Header and footer

The header and footer are section groups: they appear on every page and can hold more than one section. Only sections that make sense there can be added, so the header can't accidentally receive a slideshow.

Offer bar

A slim bar for a promotion. Add text and a link, an optional countdown end date, and a discount code that customers can copy with one click. The countdown hides itself once the date has passed, so you never show an expired offer.

Announcement bar

• One message at a time rotates messages; Scrolling runs them as a ticker.
• Customers can close the bar if you allow it; it stays closed for their visit.
• Rotation pauses on hover and keyboard focus, and in the theme editor.

Header

Mega menus

1. 1Create the menu in Online Store → Navigation with nested links under a top item (for example Shop → Cleanse, Treat, Moisturize).
2. 2In the header section, click Add block → Mega menu and type the exact title of that top-level item.
3. 3Choose a layout: link columns, image tiles or collection tiles. Add up to two promo cards and up to four featured products.

Footer

Build the footer from blocks: menu columns, text, newsletter signup, an image and app blocks. Payment icons, social links, the Follow on Shop button, and the country and language pickers are part of the footer section. For a cookie consent banner, use Shopify's own under Settings → Customer privacy. Above the footer you can add a newsletter, trust bar, text, marquee, logo wall or divider.
